We, ecosy GmbH, located at the Birkenfeld Environmental Campus, are a software provider and consulting firm specializing in climate and life cycle assessment. Our focus is on life cycle assessments (LCAs) and environmental product declarations (EPDs), as well as the creation of carbon footprints according to the international standard of the GHG Protocol. This article focuses on our range of services in the area of EPD creation. We are listed with various EPD program providers in Europe!
We pursue a holistic approach that combines software and consulting: from the first EPD to the mass production of EPDs! Reaching this level takes time for companies. Therefore, we have established various packages that meet the customer where they are and guide them to their desired goal.

We meet the customer where they are and divide the service level into two sections:
Expert level required: At least one person with experience in the EN 15804 methodology must prepare the life cycle assessment (LCA). This forms the methodological core of an EPD and represents a significant effort. The LCA is the focus of critical review by an external verifier.
Key user level: Based on the life cycle assessment, evaluations and analyses can be carried out at the product group and product level. At this point, the user does not need life cycle assessment expertise: various internal stakeholders are able to conduct analyses independently.

Scale-up: You save costs, we accelerate your EPD publications! Target group: Companies that want to create EPDs quickly and easily, without their own life cycle assessment specialists!

In the short term: Ideal if companies generally lack the personnel capacity but want to get started with EPD creation.
Advanced Status: Companies that have already published EPDs
General recommendation: Scale-up Package
Requirements:
Personnel capacity for data collection and analysis
Optional: Interest of different key users in life cycle assessment results (design, product management, climate management, controlling, etc.)
Recommendation:
In the long term: Ideal choice for companies with several product groups and many individual products.
In the short term: Ideal if companies do not yet have the capacity to carry out life cycle assessments independently.
Expert Status: Companies with in-house LCA and EPD expertise
General recommendation: Empowerment Package
Requirements:
Personnel capacity for data collection, life cycle assessment, documentation, evaluation and review
Optional: Interest of different key users in life cycle assessment results (design, product management, climate management, controlling, etc.)
Recommendation:
In the long term: Ideal choice for companies with many product groups and many individual products.
